As a result of Ohio’s opioid crisis and other issues, the number of children in foster care has increased 28 percent over the last five years.

There is a need for more foster homes as well as items to support foster families and kinship families who care for children’s basic needs. As such, the Twinsburg Interact Club will join with other Interact Clubs across Northeast Ohio in collecting items to donate to local Child Services Agencies.

The club is focusing on new items for children ages newborn to 24 months. Items needed include baby lotion, baby shampoo, diapers, wipes, diaper cream, formula, sleepers, baby blankets, booties, mittens and bibs. Items are being collected through April 8 at the Twinsburg Public Library.

The teens are also looking for other sites to serve as collections. For more information contact Laura Leonard at 330-425-4268 ext. 5.
