Suspicions

Man is building’s owner: Police said after they responded to a report of people loading items into two trucks at a South River Road commercial building during the evening March 10, they discovered one of the people was the building’s owner.

Child turned out to be dog: Police said after they responded to a report of two adults with flashlights chasing a child on Northmoreland Avenue at the city’s limit with Cuyahoga Falls at a little after 8 p.m. March 4, they discovered the adults, residents in the area, were actually retrieving their dog which had gotten loose.

Criminal damaging

Damage seen on video: A man reported a pickup truck struck his mailbox, causing about $100 in damage, in Fox Run Drive’s 100 block during the evening March 2. Police said security video cameras outside the home caught footage of the truck failing to stop at a stop sign at Fox Run and nearby Forest Brook Boulevard at about 8:50 p.m., then go off the road and hit the mailbox before leaving. Police said the video did not show the truck’s license plate number and the make is uncertain. The man said he did not recognize the truck, but a lot of vehicles pass through the area.

Misuse of a

Man reports fraudulent charges: A Donaldson Drive man reported March 1 that someone charged purchases totaling nearly $1,650 to his credit card account.

Operating a vehicle

under the influence

Man arrested during traffic stop: A 63-year-old Cuyahoga Falls man was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, open container, speeding and marked lanes after police said they clocked his vehicle’s speed at 53 mph in a 35 mph zone and stopped it on Hudson Drive near Hibbard Drive at about 8:30 p.m. March 7. The man was given a Stow Municipal Court date and released on a personal bond.

Tobacco possession

K-9 finds vaping device: A Cuyahoga Falls girl, 17, was charged with underage tobacco possession after police said a police K-9, during a periodic sweep of vehicles parked at Stow-Munroe Falls High School during the early afternoon March 6, indicated the presence of contraband in her vehicle and they found a vaping device in it. The girl was referred to Stow Youth Services in lieu of filing the charge in Summit County Juvenile Court. She was not taken into custody.

Criminal mischief

Milkshake thrown: A Stow man reported someone from another vehicle threw a milkshake into his vehicle through an open window while he was westbound on Graham Road in the area of Englewood Drive at about 6 p.m. March 1. The man said there were four people in the other vehicle and it had been tailgating his vehicle and driving erratically just before the incident.

Theft

Trash cans stolen: A man reported Feb. 28 that someone took a pair of 44-gallon trash cans of unspecified value from the end of his driveway in Lillian Road’s 1800 block since the evening before.

Man fled with shoes: A Ravenna man, 28, was charged with misdemeanor theft after an employee of a store in Kent Road’s 4200 block reported the man left the store without paying for an approximately $65 pair of shoes and then ran when the employee tried to stop him Feb. 26. An arrest warrant was issued for the man.
