A construction worker was transported to a hospital after falling from a roof in Northfield on Tuesday.
At 3:16 p.m., Macedonia Fire Department responded to a 40-year-old male who had fallen from a roof at a construction site, Lt. Paul Celinski said. The man, a resident of Ashtabula, was assisting with the roofing of a new Culver’s restaurant on 8143 Golden Link Blvd. He slipped and fell an estimated 12 to 15 feet onto the concrete below.
Though unresponsive when the call was made, the man was alert and able to answer most questions by the time squad arrived, Celinski said. He was transported to Akron City Hospital where a trauma alert was called. Celinski described the man’s condition as "serious."
No citations were issued by the police or fire department.
