Twinsburg Chabad’s annual Purim celebration will be March 21 at Gleneagles Golf Club.

The theme of the party is "Purim in the Jungle" and will feature a children’s buffet dinner, live animal show, Hamantash making and more.

The most joyous date on the Jewish calendar, Purim celebrates the Jewish people’s salvation in ancient Persia.

"Dressing up in costume is a long time Purim tradition," says Mussie Greenberg, Twinsburg Chabad’s program director. "We encourage everyone to join the party dressed in their favorite getup, jungle-related or not."

The festivities will begin at 6 p.m. with the traditional reading of the Scroll of Esther, known in Hebrew as the Megillah, followed by the activities and fun. Participants can RSVP on twinsburgchabad.com. There is a fee of $5 per person or $18 per family.
