Man found in vehicle: A 32-year-old Solon man was charged with fifth-degree felony drug possession and misdemeanor drug abuse instruments possession and drug paraphernalia possession after police responded to a report that the man was sitting in his vehicle with his head bobbing and a syringe in his arm in the parking lot of a Darrow Road store at about 4:30 p.m. Feb. 3. Police said the syringe contained suspected heroin mixed with blood and they also found other syringes, a cup with burn marks and a residue on it, rubber arm ties and a small scale in the vehicle. The man was taken to Cleveland Clinic Twinsburg for evaluation, then to Solon City Jail.

Woman stopped for violations: An Aurora woman, 30, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content, speeding, marked lanes and weaving after they stopped her vehicle on Cannon Road at about 2:20 a.m. Feb. 3. Police said they smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from the woman and she appeared drowsy. She performed poorly on the field sobriety tests and her BAC measured 0.101 percent, higher than the 0.08-percent legal limit. The woman was given a Stow Municipal Court date and was released on a personal bond. Police said they initially clocked the woman’s vehicle at 52 mph in a 35 mph zone on Chamberlin Road, then at 41 mph in a 25 mph zone after she turned east on Route 82 before they stopped her on Cannon.
Man stopped for speeding: A Pittsburgh man, 41, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content, open container and speeding after police said they clocked his vehicle’s speed at 93 mph in a 65 mph zone and stopped it on Interstate 480 east bound at about 12:50 a.m. Feb. 2. Police said the man’s BAC measured at 0.098 percent, higher than the 0.08-percent legal limit. The man was given a Stow Municipal Court date and released on a $1,000 bond.
Woman was scammed: A Twinsburg woman reported Feb. 1 that after someone claiming to work for a local police department called and told her she needed to make a payment or she would be arrested, she wired nearly $890 to the person. The woman said that after sending the money, she contacted a local court and discovered it was a scam. Police said there is a pending investigation.
Man arrested during traffic stop: A Streetsboro man, 49, was arrested and turned over to Streetsboro police on an arrest warrant after Twinsburg police stopped him for multiple unspecified violations on Darrow Road at about 8:30 p.m. Feb. 1. Police said the man was given a written warning for the violations.
