CUYAHOGA FALLS — The Subway restaurant inside the Natatorium is now closed, according to a recreation center official.

Lori Visner, the facility manager for the Natatorium, said Friday, Feb. 8, was the last day of operation for the sandwich shop inside the fitness center.

Sara Kline, the superintendent of the Cuyahoga Falls Parks and Recreation Department, said the city has “executed a termination agreement” with Subway Real Estate LLC. Kline said the city and Subway had been working on the agreement for about a month and described the deal as a “mutual” one that was worked out between the parties.

Though today is the last day it is open for customers, Kline said Subway has until the end of March to vacate the space.

The city is soliciting letters of interest from prospective businesses that may wish to set up shop in the space. Letters are due at the end of next week.

“Hopefully we'll get some letters of interest and look forward to getting a new tenant,” said Kline.

In the interim, Kline said there are plans to soon make coffee available to patrons.

Subway has operated inside the Natatorium since 2006, according to Visner.
