A 28-year-old Streetsboro man had injuries that were not life-threatening Wednesday after his car flipped into a retention pond in front of Roteck on Route 43 in Aurora south of Lena Drive around 11:37 p.m.

The man was southbound on Route 43 when he went off the road and into the pond, said Aurora Police Chief Brian Byard. The man was able to get out of the car on his own and flag down a passerby for help, Byard said.

Byard said alcohol or drugs are believed to be a factor, but a toxicology report has not yet come back. The man has not been charged and the police department has not named the man.

The car was pulled out Thursday morning, Byard said.
