STOW — At least one person was seriously injured after a passenger vehicle struck the rear of a truck on Route 8 southbound at about 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, said Police Capt. Brian Snavely.

Safety forces were still on scene as of 3:20 p.m. and the Summit Metro Crash Response Team is investigating. Snavely said he did not have additional information.

Police said the right lane is open, but motorists are requested to avoid the area if possible. The exit to Steels Corners Road is open, say police.
