HUDSON — Residents do not need to be concerned if they see police activity and hear explosions at the corner of Owen Brown Street and Morse Road on Wednesday, according to a city official. What they see and hear will be components of a police training session.

City spokesperson Jody Roberts said the police department will host Metro SWAT team training on Wednesday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., at the vacant city-owned buildings scheduled for demolition at the corner of Owen Brown Street and Morse Road. She added the training will include police activity and some explosive breaching at the site.

Metro SWAT is an organization comprising local area police departments and is activated to assist participating police departments in handling situations such as high-risk operations, barricaded suspects, and hostage rescue. Several Hudson police officers are assigned to the SWAT team and train with other SWAT members.
