Disorderly conduct

Yelling and slamming heard: A Lost Pond Drive man, 32, was cited with disorderly conduct while intoxicated after police responded to a report of yelling and car doors slamming near the man’s home at about 3:30 a.m. Nov. 22.

Operating a vehicle

under the influence

Woman drives into tree: A 33-year-old Moorland Drive woman was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content, no operator’s license and failure to control after police discovered she drove her vehicle into a tree on a tree lawn on Gettysburg Drive near Heritage Drive at about 1:55 a.m. Nov. 18. No injuries were reported. Two area residents at the scene, a Moorland Drive man, 37, and a Heritage Drive man, 36, were cited with disorderly conduct while intoxicated.

Police said the woman’s BAC level measured 0.231 percent, nearly three times the 0.08-percent legal limit. She was given a Stow Municipal Court date and released on a personal bond.

Man charged during traffic stop: A Hudson man, 27, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs, driving under suspension, marked lanes, improper change of course and seat belt after police stopped his vehicle at a Darrow Road service station at about 12:55 a.m. Nov. 18. The man was taken to Solon City Jail.

Drug possession

Cocaine found in trunk: A 30-year-old Cleveland man was charged with fifth-degree felony drug possession and misdemeanor drug paraphernalia possession and license plate light after police stopped his vehicle for lacking rear license plate illumination on Twin Hills Parkway near Route 82 at about 10:45 p.m. Nov. 18. Police said a police K-9 indicated the presence of narcotics in the vehicle and they found suspected cocaine and a digital scale in the trunk. The man was taken to Solon City Jail.

Marijuana found under seat: A Ravenna man, 24, was cited with minor misdemeanor marijuana possession after police stopped a vehicle he was a passenger in for an equipment violation at about 8:35 p.m. Nov. 18. Police said that after the vehicle’s driver, a Streetsboro woman, gave them consent to search the vehicle, they found a suspected marijuana cigarette under the man’s seat.

Arrest warrant

Man arrested during traffic stop: A Cleveland man, 44, was arrested after police said they clocked his vehicle at 43 mph in a 25 mph zone and stopped it on Glenwood Drive at about 11:15 p.m. Nov. 17, then discovered he was wanted by Mayfield Heights police on a theft charge. The man was charged with driving under suspension and speeding, given a Stow Municipal court date and turned over to Mayfield Heights police.

Drug possession

Man charged during traffic stop: An Akron man, 28, was charged with marijuana possession, drug paraphernalia possession, and operating a vehicle without a license after a Summit County Sheriff’s deputy stopped his vehicle for having an obstructed license plate on Highland Road at about 3:10 a.m. Nov. 27. Police said they found a small amount of suspected marijuana and a smoking device in the vehicle. The man was summoned to appear in Stow Municipal Court and released.

Assault

Flagger punched: A 38-year-old Bedford Heights man was charged with first-degree misdemeanor assault after a flagger directing traffic at an East Highland Road paving site reported the man punched him in the mouth, causing a minor injury, at about 7:25 a.m. Nov. 5. The flagger said that he had signaled the man to stop, but the man kept slowly moving his vehicle forward. The flagger said that after he twice yelled for the man to stop, the man got out of his vehicle and hit him. A scuffle then ensued and the flagger’s co-workers separated them. The man was summoned to appear in Stow Municipal Court and released.

Criminal damaging

Sugar poured into gas tank: A Ray Court woman reported Nov. 3 that someone forced open her vehicle’s gas intake door and poured sugar into the gas tank while the vehicle was parked outside her home during the night. The sheriff’s office said the door was damaged and they saw a white grainy substance around the gas tank intake. There were no suspects, the sheriff’s office said. A sheriff’s report did not include a damage estimate.

Arrest warrant

Man arrested during traffic stop: A Cleveland man, 51, was arrested after a sheriff’s deputy stopped his vehicle for not having rear license plate illumination on Harvard Road near Eton Street at about 9:15 p.m. and discovered the man was wanted by the sheriff’s office for failing to appear in court on a driving under suspension charge. The man was charged with driving under suspension and taken to Summit County Jail.
