Man arrested during traffic stop: A Cleveland man was arrested and turned over to Strongsville police following a traffic stop on Lena Drive at about 8 a.m. Nov. 26, during which police determined he was wanted for failing to appear in court on a traffic offense. Police said the man also was wanted in Georgia for a probation violation in connection with a robbery conviction.
Man hid in Akron: A 42-year-old Mantua man was charged with third-degree felony burglary and misdemeanor charges of violating a protection order, disobeying a police officer and drug paraphernalia possession after police responded to a report that the man entered a Fairington Drive home without permission during early afternoon Nov. 25. Police said that when told he was under arrest, the man fled to the home’s attic and tried to hide there. A tube with residue on it was found in the man’s possession, said police. He was taken to Portage County Jail.
Wallet thrown: A man was cited with disorderly conduct after police responded to a report that he threw a woman’s wallet in a Chillicothe Road store during the early afternoon Nov. 23. A second man with him was arrested and taken to Portage County Jail after police said they determined he was wanted by the Pennsylvania State Police.
License plate found: Police said after a woman reported finding a license plate on her property Nov. 21, they determined the plate had been reported lost and replaced. Police said the plate would be destroyed.
