MACEDONIA — Area residents can get a taste of the Renaissance era at Nordonia High School Dec. 8, when students sing Christmas carols in period garb, guests are served wassail, and entertainment is staged for both the guests and the members of Queen Elizabeth I’s court.
John Pickering, choral director at the high school, said this event, the first one he and his choral students have planned, was not only planned as a diversion for the community but a way of introducing the students to something they’ve never done before. The evening will include music, a professional juggler and the royal court.
“We have a full script with Queen Elizabeth,” Pickering said.
The students seemed to have fun in putting together the event.
“Something that’s really appealing is the decor,” said senior Marcus Friday, 18. “The way we will have the tables set up is really nice.”
The Feaste will take place in the high school cafeteria. Cost is $25 a plate, which includes chicken kiev, salad, vegetables, potatoes, rolls, dessert and drinks. Vegetarian, vegan and children’s meals also are available.
