Man threatened: An Akron man reported an unknown male threatened him with a pipe and acted as if he had a gun while they were involved in a dispute over the male trespassing at an Elmwood Street home during the early evening Oct. 13. Police said the Akron man did not require any medical attention.


Change stolen from vehicle: A Chestnut Boulevard man reported Oct. 12 someone took about $4 in change from his unlocked vehicle while it was parked outside his home during an unspecified time period.

Stolen truck recovered: A Germaine Street woman reported Oct. 11 someone took her 1989 model pickup truck valued at about $2,500 from a parking lot next to her home during the night. The woman said the truck did not run and would have to have been towed. Police said they found the truck abandoned a short time later along Route 8 southbound, just south of the Howe Avenue entrance ramp and the woman arranged to have it towed.

Man seen in vehicle: A 22-year-old Ardella Avenue man was charged with misdemeanor theft, possession of criminal tools, and vehicle trespass after a neighbor of a Sackett Avenue woman reported seeing the man in the woman’s vehicle while it was parked outside her home at around 1:15 a.m. Oct. 10. Police said they found a change purse belonging to the woman in the man’s backpack. The man was given a Stow Municipal Court date and released on a personal bond.

Solar light stolen: An Underwood Street woman reported someone took an approximately $50 copper solar light from a fence along her driveway during the day Oct. 10.

Money taken from vending machine: A Graham Road motel employee reported an unknown male and female tampered with a vending machine and took $100 from it during the late afternoon Oct. 10. Damage to the machine was not reported.

Cellphone stolen at school: A woman reported someone took her daughter’s $200 cellphone while her daughter was at Cuyahoga Falls High School during the afternoon Oct. 9.

Sign taken from fence: The owner of a Portage Trail business reported Oct. 8 someone took an approximately $50 No Parking sign from a fence next to the business’ parking lot during the previous two days.

Clothing taken from vehicle: A Uniontown man reported someone entered his locked vehicle by unknown means and took clothing while the vehicle was parked outside a Pinebrook Trail home during the night Oct. 6. Police said the total loss was estimated at $780. A police report did not say whether the vehicle was damaged.

Phone taken from garage: A North Haven Boulevard man reported someone took his estimated $200 cellphone from his open garage during the early evening Oct. 6. Police said they did a trace on the phone and received a signal from a Portage Trail location, but were unable to find the phone there.

Criminal damaging

BB breaks window: A 21st Street woman reported someone broke her home’s front window with a BB during the afternoon or early evening Oct. 10. Police said the damage was estimated at $400 and there were no suspects.

Disorderly conduct

Man was screaming: A Canton man, 39, was cited with disorderly conduct while intoxicated after police responded to a report the man was screaming at employees and customers and refusing to leave while at an East Bath Road service station late in the evening Oct. 10. Police said the man had trouble standing, had bloodshot and watery eyes and they smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from him. He was taken to Western Reserve Hospital due to intoxication, police said.


Counterfeit bills found: An administrator at a West Portage Trail preschool reported Oct. 10 someone paid for tuition with two counterfeit $20 bills between Sept. 7 and Oct. 2. The administrator said a bank was holding the bills.
