The annual Old Fashioned Sunday celebration recently was held at Friendship Bible Church in Randolph.

The morning consisted of an old sermon by Pastor Bill Johnson from the files of Gypsy Smith, an evangelist from the early 1900s and there was singing by Calvary’s Love.

Despite the rainy day, the tent was up and there were about 200 people in attendance along with a display of antique tractors from the area.

Attendees enjoyed a roasted pig and grilled chicken along with a variety of side dishes and desserts brought in by members of the church while the Howes family sang under the tent during the meal.

The silent auction and verbal auction proceeds were donated to the church’s newest missionaries, Josh and Alaina Richards, who will be heading to Ireland next year.

Although some of the outside events were cancelled due to the weather conditions that day, the Pie Contest and Old Fashioned Costume Contest were well received and the children enjoyed the balloon art, face painting and photo booth.

Friendship Bible Church welcomes visitors every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. for Sunday School for children ages 2 through adult and Worship Service is at 10:30 a.m. For more information about the church, visit the website at .
