Receiving stolen property

Vehicle reported stolen: A Cleveland woman, 36, was charged with fourth-degree felony receiving stolen property after police determined through a random computer check of her vehicle’s license plate number that the vehicle had been reported stolen in Cleveland Heights and they stopped it on Route 82 at a little before 10 a.m. Sept. 18. Police said the woman admitted the vehicle was a rental that she had never returned. The woman was arrested. A passenger in the vehicle, a 35-year-old Cleveland man, was cited with minor misdemeanor marijuana possession after police said they found a small amount of suspected marijuana in his pocket.

Fraud

Man reports scam: An employee of an Edison Boulevard business reported Sept. 18 that after someone he thought was his boss sent him an email and several text messages the day before, he purchased gift cards totaling $3,100 in value and sent photos of them to the person. The man said that when he came in to work, he spoke to his boss and discovered it was a scam.

Fraudulent charges reported: A Deerfield Court woman reported Sept. 14 that someone charged unspecified purchases to her credit card account. Police said the matter was under investigation.

Falsification

Man falsely identified himself: A Pennsylvania man, 38, was charged with falsification, driving under suspension, drug paraphernalia possession and a marked lanes violation after police stopped his vehicle for the traffic violation on Route 91 near Sherwin Drive at a little before 9 p.m. Sept. 18. Police said the man falsely identified himself and they found a pipe containing suspected marijuana residue in his possession. He was taken to Solon City Jail, where he was held on a $1,000 bond.

Drug possession

Marijuana found in vehicle: A Gettysburg Drive woman, 22, was cited with minor misdemeanor drug possession after police stopped her vehicle for a red light violation on Route 82 near Church Street at about 10:30 p.m. Sept. 17. Police said they smelled an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and they found a small amount of suspected marijuana in it. The woman was given a warning for the traffic violation.

Operating a vehicle

under the influence

Woman stopped for traffic violations: A Cleveland woman, 46, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content, driving under suspension, weaving, marked lanes and open container after police stopped her vehicle on Interstate 480 westbound at about 11:20 p.m. Sept. 16. Police said the woman’s BAC measured 0.265 percent, more than three times the 0.08 percent legal limit, and they found a cup containing beer in her vehicle. The woman was taken to Solon City Jail, where she was held on a 10 percent of $2,500 bond.

Arrest warrant

Woman arrested during traffic stop: An 18-year-old Cleveland woman was arrested and turned over to Euclid police on an arrest warrant for failing to appear in court on a child endangerment charge after police saw the woman driving slowly on Interstate 480 eastbound at about 12:30 a.m. Sept. 16. Police said they performed a computer check of her license plate number, discovered she was wanted and stopped her on Route 82 after she exited the highway. The woman was also cited with expired license plates and a temporary license violation.

Domestic violence

Father reports assault: A Twinsburg man, 20, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor domestic violence after the man’s father reported the man assaulted him at their home during an argument Sept. 14. The man was taken to Solon City Jail. Injuries to the father were not described in a police report.
