Attempted theft

Woman sees suspect: A woman reported that after she saw an unidentified person trying to enter a vehicle parked outside her home in Tammery Drive’s 300 block at a little after 10 p.m. Sept. 7, the person ran through her front yard. Police said a Munroe Falls police K-9 was called in to track the suspect, but Munroe Falls police said that due possibly to other people having been walking around the area, including neighbors,the dog was unable to pick up a confirmed scent.

Vehicle ransacked: A man reported Sept. 7 that someone ransacked his unlocked vehicle while it was parked outside his home in Humble Road’s 700 block during the night, but nothing appeared to have been taken.


Store reports alleged shoplifting: A 37-year-old man described in a police report as homeless was charged with misdemeanor theft after an employee of a store in South Avenue’s 600 block reported the man left the store without paying for merchandise totaling about $57 in value Sept. 5.

Package stolen: A Juniata Road man reported discovering Sept. 7 that someone took a package containing a brass fountain pen and other items totaling about $80 in value while it was being delivered to his home in Juniata Road’s 1700 block several days earlier. The man said a neighbor saw an unidentified male suspect take the package from a delivery driver during the late morning or early afternoon Sept. 4.

Meth discovered at store: After a manager of a store in South Avenue’s 500 block reported finding a substance in a small plastic bag in one of the store aisles Sept. 5, police said the substance tested positive as meth.
