Traffic crash

Side mirror broken off: A Stow woman reported that an unknown vehicle struck the driver’s side of her car, breaking off the mirror, while she was southbound on North Main Street at a little before 7 a.m. Sept. 7. Police said there were no reported injuries to the woman and overall damage to her car was minor.

Criminal mischief

School shed window broken: Police responded to a report Sept. 4 that someone broke a window on a shed outside Riverview Elementary School off North River Road during the previous few days. Police said the damage was estimated at about $50.

Identity fraud

Fraudulent charge reported: A River Park Boulevard woman reported Sept. 2 that someone used her bank card information to charge $50 to her bank account.

Receiving stolen property

Man was sleeping in car: A Cuyahoga Falls man, 37, was charged with fifth-degree felony receiving stolen property and cited with minor misdemeanor marijuana possession after police investigated when they saw him sleeping in his vehicle in the parking lot of a store in Hudson Drive’s 3500 block at about 1 a.m. Sept. 10 and they discovered one of the vehicle’s license plates had been reported stolen. The man was taken to Macedonia City Jail.

Operating a vehicle under the influence

Man charged following crash: A Mac Drive man, 46, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content test refusal and failure to control after police said the man crashed into the rear of a Wyndham Ridge Drive man’s vehicle while the Wyndham Ridge man was waiting to make a left turn off Commerce Drive onto Route 91 at about 5:25 p.m. Sept. 9. Police said no injuries were reported. The Wyndham Ridge man’s vehicle was damaged but functional while the Mac Drive man’s vehicle was disabled. The Mac man was given a Stow Municipal Court date and released on a personal bond.


Check stolen: A Bridgewater Parkway man reported discovering Aug. 30 that a check he had mailed last April was somehow intercepted, altered and used to make a purchase for $37.

Saw stolen from store: An employee of a store in Hudson Drive’s 3500 block reported Aug. 30 that an unknown male and female could be seen on store security video leaving the store without paying for a $349 miter saw several days earlier.

Bike stolen outside restaurant: A Hudson boy, 16, and his father reported someone stole the boy’s unsecured bicycle of unspecified value from outside a restaurant in Darrow Road’s 5000 block during the day Aug. 28.


Phony rental agreement reported: A Williamson Road woman reported Aug. 29 that after she wired $500 to someone in New Jersey to secure a rental agreement on a mobile home in Ravenna, she discovered that the property was not being handled by anyone in New Jersey and she had been defrauded.


Juveniles seen: Management of a Colony Park Place apartment complex reported Aug. 28 that after previously having issues with unidentified juveniles trespassing in the complex, the juveniles were seen congregating in on wooded area on a church’s property to the north. Police said they contacted a church employee, who said she had seen litter, but was unaware of any other issues. She requested extra police patrols, which police had provided to the apartment complex to discourage trespassing.
