KENT — Ohio CAN, which stands for "Change Addiction Now," will honor International Overdose Awareness Day on Aug. 31 with a concert from 6 to 8 p.m. on the Hometown Bank plaza stage downtown.
The concert will feature live music with Jim Zeller on the stage at 142 S. Water St. The group will rally to "break the silence and stigma of Substance Use Disorder" and "educate to show that recovery does happen."
A candlelight vigil and testimonies will also be part of the event. Donations of personal care items for "Blessing Bags" to be distributed to the homeless and those newly discharged from recovery housing also will be accepted.
