Thieves used a pair of minivans to crash through a store and take an ATM machine early Friday morning.

Stow police said the first minivan, a grey Plymouth Voyager that had been stolen overnight from a Cleveland resident, was used to smash into the 7-11 store at 959 Steels Corners Road a couple minutes before 5 a.m.

The 21-year-old clerk working inside immediately left the store and called 911. Police said three males wearing hoodies and masks then arrived in a second minivan similar to the first one. The three went into the store and loaded the ATM into the second minivan and fled the scene, police said. The minivan used to break into the front window of the store was left on scene, police said.

The Cleveland man was not aware the vehicle had been stolen until notified by Cleveland police at the request of Stow officers.

The second minivan, described in a police report as a grey 2000 Chevy Astrovan, has not been located.

Police said no one was injured, no suspects have been identified and no further information is available.
