Get your tickets now for Southeastern Med’s Auxiliary Summer Basket Raffle. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5 and can be purchased at the gift shop inside the hospital’s main campus. Drawings will be Wednesday, June 20. Proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards the Auxiliary’s five-year $250,000 pledge to the Building of Hope and Healing campaign for a new cancer center, as well as new equipment purchases for the medical center and event support.

Gage Shepherd, 14-year-old author from the DC area, will be attending a meet and greet hosted by the Friends of the Library-Crossroads Branch. Gage will be presenting his newest book, "Comet’s Jurassic Journey" and will be discussing the process from start to finish of writing and publishing books. Gage will also be selling and signing his Adventures of Comet series books. Come out and meet Gage on Saturday, June 23, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Crossroads Library. CARA Amateur Radio Field Day will take place on Saturday, June 23, starting at 2 p.m., at the Grove Park. This is part of a nationwide amateur radio event where amateur radio clubs and individuals practice emergency communications skills. They set up radio stations using emergency power to talk to as many other amateur radio operators as they can in a 24-hour period. The public is invited and encouraged to come see them in action.
Camp for children
Hospice of Guernsey will sponsor a "Desert Oasis" Kids Kamp June 25-27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Deerassic Park, 1420 Cadiz Rd. The Kamp is open to children ages 6-12 who have experienced a loss.
