Chicken barbecue set
The Beallsville and Community Volunteer Fire Department will have its annual chicken and rib barbecue on Father’s Day (Sunday, June 17) starting at 11 a.m. until sold out at the fire station.
Tea and style show set
The Belmont County Historical Society is sponsoring a Victorian Tea and Style Show on Saturday, June 23 at 2 p.m. at the Belmont County Victorian Mansion Museum, 532 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville. The public is invited to attend. Join them in sampling Victorian delicacies at High Tea in the twin parlors and dining room. A style show featuring vintage and new wedding dresses will be presented. The style show will end with the bridal party wearing the current trend of wedding gowns of color. Reservations and pre-payment are required and due by June 20. The donation is $20. Bethesda sets additional meetings
Until the recent wave of special council meetings, the village of Bethesda’s regular meeting was the fourth Thursday of each month. Moving forward, the meetings will take place twice each month on the second Tuesday and the fourth Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
American Legion election of officers set
American Legion Post 168 will hold its annual election of officers Saturday, June 16 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. All regular members wanting to cast their vote will need to show their current legion membership card to be eligible. Adult summer reading program set
"Libraries Rock" will be the theme at the Barnesville Hutton Memorial Library this summer. The adult reading program will run from June 4 to July 24. VBS program set
Children ages 4 years through those who completed sixth grade are cordially invited to attend Vacation Bible School at East Richland Friends Church. VBS begins Monday, June 11 through Friday, June 15 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. You may pre-register online at erfriends.com or you may sign up on at the door. Hope to see you there. Friends Church is located three miles west of St. Clairsville on National Road 40 between Interstate exits 213 and 215.
Blue Star Banner available
The Blue Star Banner is available to any Barnesville area family of a serviceman or servicewoman serving in any branch of the military, including the National Guard (active or reserve). A banner will be dedicated to the family and then placed in their window for the service member. For information or to have a ceremony, call 740-238-2137.
Coin club meets
The Barnesville Coin Club meets the third Sunday of every month, except December. The meetings are open to the public and are located at 229 E. Main St., Barnesville.
