CUYAHOGA FALLS — A longtime teacher with Roberts Middle School was placed on paid leave earlier this month for an alleged sexual assault on a female minor.

According to a report from the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department, the teacher is being investigated for alleged forcible fondling of the minor at the middle school sometime between Feb. 1 and April 3. The incident was reported April 8 to police. The case is still under investigation as of April 26.

The teacher, a Stow resident, started with the district in 1989. He was placed on leave April 9, according to the Cuyahoga Falls school district.

The teacher’s personnel file contains no previous disciplinary actions. His reviews for the 2015-16 school year were all “skilled” and higher, and comments in previous reviews, which also were positive, included “always involved,” “upbeat” and “really knows his subject.”
