Deputies arrested a 20-year-old Summit Road man on April 16 and charged him with violating a protection order, a first-degree misdemeanor, after he allegedly was found at the Summit Road address of a juvenile protected by court order, according to the Portage County Sheriff’s Office.
A 44-year-old Shalersville man was arrested April 13 and charged with operating a vehicle under the influence, a first-degree misdemeanor, resisting arrest, a second-degree misdemeanor, and misconduct at an emergency, a fourth-degree misdemeanor, following a traffic stop by a deputy on the man’s white 2004 GMC van on Route 59 eastbound at 10:46 p.m. The driver allegedly was intoxicated but refused sobriety tests and resisted arrest, according to the Portage County Sheriff’s Office.
Brijon J. Brown, 22, of 815 Frost Road, was arrested April 16 and charged with receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony. On April 3, Brown allegedly bought a Yamaha YZ250F dirt bike — with an estimated value of $3,870 — for only $500, allegedly knowing or having reason to believe it had been stolen, according to the Portage County Sheriff’s Office.
Officers arrested Karen M. Shepper, 47, of 1586 Clarius Circle, on April 14 and charged her with domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony, after she allegedly threatened a male family member with a knife and also allegedly threatened to kill him in front of officers. The charge is a felony because Shepper was charged with domestic violence against the same victim in October 2017, according to Streetsboro police.
