Andy Malitz has been named general manager of Sequoia Wellness and executive director of The NEW Center at NEOMED (Northeast Ohio Medical University).
According to Integrated Wellness Partners, Malitz will strengthen NEOMED's health and wellness initiatives across the region.
He will be responsible for the daily operations of Sequoia Wellness, the medically-based, community-oriented wellness and fitness center located in The NEW Center. Additionally, Malitz will oversee the sales and marketing initiatives for the conference and banquet services of The NEW Center.
"Andy's background in sales and fitness facility management makes him uniquely qualified to perform both duties," Jim Ellis, executive director of IWP, said. "We are confident that The NEW Center will enjoy top-of-mind event status under his leadership. His position will strengthen NEOMED's health and wellness initiatives across the region."
The 177,000 square feet NEW Center provides many amenities in keeping with IWP's wellness mission, including an executive chef and food services staff that offers healthy choices. Corporate and private events coordinated through Signet Management's onsite team range from casual to gala.
"I am extremely pleased to join NEOMED and Signet in the work of enhancing the brand of the NEW Center as a true gem in Northeast Ohio's Conference and Banquet industry," Malitz said.
Malitz has more than nine years of experience in fitness center management and a lifelong career in marketing, sales, sales management and event production. A Kent State University graduate with a bachelor of arts degree, Malitz has worked with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Taste of Hudson and others. He also will continue his duties with the Hudson event.
"Integrated Wellness Partners is leading the health and wellness charge nationally, and by launching Sequoia Wellness here it brings an exciting new dimension to the NEOMED campus and surrounding communities. I am looking forward to bringing my experience to this position and in working with the many great professionals already here on staff," Malitz said.
Malitz lives in Hudson with his wife, Tammy, and three children.
