Rowland Mayor was recently awarded his Eagle Scout in a ceremony Jan. 19 at Barlow Community Center. Rowland is a member of Troop 321 and spent 10 years in Scouting, earning 30 merit badges and attending the 2010 National Scout Jamboree and 2011 SeaBase High Adventure program. His Eagle Scout Service Project was to design and build three 10-foot stair sections which were installed last August at the fish hatchery at University School in Hunting Valley. The stairs were built by fellow members of Troop 321, the oldest scout troop in Hudson. Pictured with Rowland are his uncles and his cousin, all Eagle Scouts, as well as his grandfather who made the trip from Arizona to witness the ceremony. Rowland is a senior at University School and will attend the University of Richmond next fall. He is the son of Peg and Tom Mayor.
