Cuyahoga Falls -- The Cuyahoga Falls City School District now has a new transportation supervisor.
The Board of Education on Dec. 20 voted 4-0 to hire Douglas Hardgrove to serve as the district's transportation supervisor in a contract beginning Jan. 3 and running through July 31, 2009.
Board member Bob Heath was absent from the Dec. 20 special meeting.
Hardgrove will earn an annual salary of $46,312, according to information provided by the district.
Hardgrove replaces Donna Boyd, who resigned Nov. 1 to take a job with the neighboring Woodridge Local School District, said District Superintendent Dr. Ed Holland.
Hardgrove has worked for the Wayne County Board of MRDD in Wooster since 1992, and most recently served as the organization's assistant transportation supervisor.
"As your employee, I will welcome hard work, be willing to handle any task thrown at me, be mindful of safety and stay on top of all the latest rules and regulations involving school transportation," wrote Hardgrove in a letter to district officials. "I pride myself on dependability, accuracy and the ability to work well with others."
