Stow " The Stow Service Department is scheduled to host an open meeting for residents in the Kenneth and Samira Road area Aug. 1 from 2 to 5 p.m.

Approximately 200 residents in the area must make repairs to improper sewer connections, and the city is offering a 20-year assessment program and grants of either 20 percent of the cost or $500 to residents who repair improper sewer connections. The lower amount of the two will be offered.

The grants will be offered through June 1, 2008, with a cap of $125,000, and are available citywide. The grants also are retroactive through June 1, 2006, so that any residents who have made the repairs in the past year are eligible.

During the meeting, which will take place at Stow City Hall, Stow officials will answer questions about the programs and accept applications for the grants. The deadline to register for the city's assessment program is Aug. 24.
