A record 60 golf teams attended the 21st annual Sugar Bush Golf Classic May 22 in Garrettsville.With the help of the Sugar Bush Golf Club, Middlefield Banking Company and Cleveland Indians Charities, this year's event raised a record $44,000 through golf package purchases and a silent auction, which sold 17 items.Proceeds will help fund Hattie Larlham's capital campaign Hope At Work, a $16 million project that will expand the organization's scope of services through state-of-the-art equipment and renovations to its main campus in Mantua.Plenty of celebrities were on hand at the annual outing, including: professional golfer Gary Trivisonno; retired Cleveland Indians pitcher Lenny Barker; Cleveland Indians Vice-president of Public Relations Bob DiBiasio; WTAM-1100 morning radio host Bill Wills; and retired NFL star Gary Jeter.DiBiasio and Wills have hosted the Sugar Bush award banquet for the past eight years.To date, the golf outing has raised more than $419,000. Proceeds help fund Hattie Larlham's playground/sensory walk equipment, therapy equipment, adaptive toys program and its educational center.
