May is a busy month for the Optimist Club.The Breakfast Optimist Club of Cuyahoga Falls hosted its Middle School Youth Appreciation Day May 15.The recipients were selected on the following criteria: "For upholding dignity of youth, for showing sincere devotion to the welfare of others, and for generous and unselfish contribution to society." The students chosen for during this program were: Meghan Davis of Bolich Middle School; Sam Cullado of Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy; Sara Stanger of Holy Family School; Marcia Leon of Immaculate Heart of Mary School; Kenni Rogness of Kimpton Middle School; Tessa Ditirro of Old Trail School; Nathan Volchko of Redeemer Christian School; Katie Williams of Roberts Middle School; Emily Ricker of Saint Joseph School; Zach Oles of Summit Christian School; and Kyla Mussey of Woodridge Middle SchoolThere were family members and school officials in attendance and there was a special guest appearance from the Cuyahoga Falls Police Officer Bill Shover, who handed out the awards.The Mission/Vision Statement of Optimist International is: By providing hope and positive vision, Optimists bring out the best in kids.
