Stow resident Dennis J. Fleming is facing multiple drug charges following a traffic stop in Akron.
According to a court document, Fleming, 53, was indicted June 4 on charges of possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony; possession of marijuana, a minor misdemeanor; possession of drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree misdemeanor; and driving under suspension, a first-degree misdemeanor.
According to a court document, Fleming's vehicle was stopped in Akron April 20 after Akron Police determined he was driving under suspension. During the investigation, officers found an unspecified amount of suspected cocaine, an unspecified amount of suspected marijuana and suspected drug paraphernalia.
If convicted, he faces a total maximum sentence of 19 months in jail, anda maximum fine of $15,500, according to the Ohio Revised Code.
Fleming appeared before Common Pleas Judge Patricia Cosgrove for a pretrial June 15, and he is scheduled to appear before Cosgrove again July 30, according to the Common Pleas Court's Web site.
According to Cosgrove's office, Fleming is free on bond.
