Stow -- Police arrested a 36-year-old Wyndham Ridge Drive man and charged him with theft and operating a vehicle while intoxicated after he reportedly attempted to leave a Steels Corners Road gas station without paying for approximately $25 worth of fuel.

Police reported the man attempted to leave the scene in his vehicle at approximately 2:19 p.m. Jan. 21, but officers stopped him.

Police reported the man also was intoxicated, and he failed a breathalyzer test.

He is scheduled to appear in Cuyahoga Falls Municipal Court.

Theft of a motor vehicle

Jan. 22. Vehicle taken from garage: Police reported the theft of a Celeste View Drive woman's all-terrain vehicle from her garage at approximately 10:30 p.m. According to the report, someone entered the woman's open garage and removed her blue 2005 Yamaha, valued at approximately $2,700.

An investigation is pending.

Theft

Jan. 20. Items stolen from vehicle: A Waxwing Drive woman told police someone entered her vehicle and stole a stereo speaker, and removed two blue decorative neon lights attached to the car while it was parked in her driveway sometime between Jan. 12 and 20.

The total value of the items was $1,030, according to the report.

Criminal damaging

Jan. 20. Rock thrown through vehicle: Police reported damage to an Emerald Woods Drive woman's vehicle while it was parked in her driveway sometime between Jan. 18 and 19.

According to the report, someone threw a rock through the windshield of the vehicle, causing $250 in estimated damage.

Jan. 18. Fast food sign damaged: Police reported damage to a Kent Road fast food restaurant sometime between Jan. 15 and Jan. 18.

According to the report, someone used an unknown object to crack a "cheddar melt" sign located on the establishment's drive-through window.

The estimated damage to the sign was $350, according to the report.

Identity fraud

Jan. 18. Credit card account opened in man's name: A Gangl Road man told police someone opened a credit card account in October using his personal information without his knowledge or permission. According to the report, approximately $9,000 has been charged to the account since October.

An investigation is pending.

Drug abuse

Jan. 17. Traffic stop results in drug charges: Police arrested a 22-year-old Meria Drive man and charged him with drug abuse following a traffic stop on Kent Road at 2:28 p.m. During the stop, officers found suspected marijuana in the vehicle, according to the report.

The man is scheduled to appear in Cuyahoga Falls Municipal Court.
