The Rock N Resort Music Festival is encouraging area food and concession vendors, exhibitors, and non-profit organizations to participate in the fourth annual event at Clay's Park Resort in N. Lawrence. This event draws more than 10,000 each day of the three-day festival. The event is slated for July 27 through 29. Event hours are noon to 12 midnight each day, however exhibitors and non-profit organizations may choose to exhibit from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Food and concession vendors are encouraged to vend for all festival hours and are required to be open from 3 p.m. to midnight each day. Fees for vendors and exhibitors range from $150 for non-profits to $300 for commercial businesses. Food and concession vendors pay $600 for the weekend, and in lieu of a sales percentage payment, are required to provide an in-kind food donation for the event's volunteers, crew, and performers. All vendor spaces are outdoors and vendors must provide their own tables, chairs, concession trailers, tents and coverings. Spaces will be assigned to vendors both commercial and non-profit, on a first request and/or first come, first served basis. The event is presented by Clay's Park Resort and features more than 50 musical performances throughout the weekend. Festival-goers can support the military at Clay's Park by giving donations for care packages, submitting photo and video messages, and participating in the live celebration. "This year we are celebrating a different charity each day of the festival," Ms. Lowery D Lockard, event producer/coordinator said. "Saturday is a day for celebrating the service of our military of today and yesterday." The charity focus on July 27 is The Dane Foundation and on July 29 the Summit County, Guns & Hoses charity will benefit.The military tribute will include a special music and video celebration with country artist Michael Peterson during the headlining show on Saturday night, fireworks, a Tribute Tower, and more, Lockard said. There are many ways the public is encouraged to participate in and support this military tribute. "We will be collecting cash and product donations at the event for local service men and women overseas," Lockard said. These donations will become care packages with assistance from the S.O.S. Organization (Supporting our Service Men & Women) from Walsh University. This student driven organization will prepare personalized care packages to be sent directly to Northeast Ohio military that are stationed throughout the world. A list of items being collected is on the event's Web site at "In addition to care packages, we are encouraging the public to submit current or veteran military personnel for recognition at the event," Lockard said. Photos, videos and messages can be submitted on behalf of active service personnel, a veteran, or those that have given their lives for the country. These tribute messages will be placed on the two Tribute Towers at the festival site, and will be combined into the live, tribute presentation on Saturday evening. Organizations are invited to participate in the Rock N Resort Music Festival, and can use their booths to hand out information and/or sell items to benefit their cause. Non food/beverage booths are being offered to non-profits for a fee of $150 for the weekend. "This is a fantastic opportunity for organizations both small and large to raise money and spread awareness for their effort," Lockard said. Organizations also can sign up volunteer crews for various shifts throughout the event weekend. Volunteer crews will be assigned to event production needs from merchandise sales in the Rock N Resort store and on the event festival site, Beer & Beverage sales in the various beverage stands as well as setup, cleanup, and stage crew activities. Donations will be awarded to volunteer organizations based on their service hours and volunteer numbers.
