Heart of Ohio

Rehearsals for the Heart of Ohio women's a cappella show chorus take place Mondays at 7:30 p.m. at the Twin Falls United Methodist Church.

The barbershop chorus, led by master director David Wallace, is looking for women of all ages in the greater Akron area who want to have fun singing and performing in a four-part harmony a cappella chorus.

Women in the community are invited to drop in at a rehearsal any Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the Twin Falls United Methodist Church, 60 N. River Road in Munroe Falls.

Nicotine Anonymous

A Nicotine Anonymous meeting takes place Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. in the Stow United Methodist Church, 4880 Fishcreek Road.

The meeting takes place downstairs.

Stow Blanketeers

The Stow Blanketeers meet on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month, excluding June.

The group of 30 or so ladies who make up the Stow Blanketeers are in need of community support.

The group is asking for donated yarn or cash donations for the purchase of material.

The Stow Blanketeers knitted and crocheted a total of 125 blankets during the 2006 year, which were donated to local shelters.

Stow-Munroe Falls Newcomers Club

The Stow-Munroe Falls Newcomers Club is open to new and established women of the community, as well as those residing in surrounding neighborhoods.

The club offers a wide variety of activities for members and their families, including social events, community service projects, special guest speakers and field trips.

Interested ladies are encouraged to try out the club before committing to joining.

Stow-Munroe Falls Kiwanis Club

The Stow-Munroe Falls Kiwanis Club is scheduled to host a pot luck supper and meeting Jan. 31 at 6 p.m. in Denning Lodge in Adell Durbin Park, 3300 Darrow Road in Stow. The supper will be sponsored by the membership committee of the Kiwanis Club.

Investment Club

The Wampum Investment Club meets the third Wednesday of every month from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library, located at 3512 Darrow Road in Stow.

The club belongs to the National Association of Investors Corporation, which currently has 16,000 investment clubs and 165,000 members.

A small monthly investment from each member is combined to build and manage a growing portfolio of stocks.
