Local author to speakLocal author Jennifer Hanselman, the mother of Ohio's first set of sextuplets, is scheduled to speak at the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library Jan. 24 at 7 p.m. in the Stow-Munroe Falls meeting room. Hanselman will discuss "Party of Nine," a look at life with sextuplets.To reserve a seat, call the Adult Information Desk at 330-688-3295.Tax help available in FebruaryBeginning Feb. 2, a free tax service will be available at Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library for older residents and residents who earn low to middle incomes. This annual program is sponsored by the American Association of Retired Persons, which works in cooperation with the Internal Revenue Service Tax Counseling for the Elderly Program to assure the volunteers are knowledgeable about the special tax provisions for older people.The service will be available Fridays from noon to 4 p.m. at the library through April 13. One-hour appointments may be scheduled by contacting the library at 330-688-3295. Bring a copy of last year's tax return, a Social Security card and a picture ID. Also bring any forms showing income earned or pensions or Social Security paid, 1099 forms showing interest or dividends earned on investments, and receipts or canceled checks for income or property taxes paid or any contributions made to charities.Be aware that library staff members are not permitted to give tax advice, answer questions on taxes or fill out tax forms. However, they will help to locate books and the appropriate forms and publications to help with the completion if a tax return.Help for Job SeekersA representative from the Job Center is coming to Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library to assist job seekers. Outreach Specialist Jill Hostetler will be available at the library Feb. 15 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. to answer job search questions. No appointment is required.The Job Center is a comprehensive workforce center created by a partnership of businesses and government organizations.
