But the members of the Hudson boys golf team are in the driver’s seat to win the Suburban League National Conference title.

The Explorers won the National Conference championship at the first of four Suburban League tournaments Thursday at Pine Hills Golf Club in Hinckley.

Hudson placed first out of seven teams with a score of 310. Stow-Munroe Falls placed second (315) and Twinsburg took third (331).

The Explorers’ Coop Pamer shared medalist honors with Max Crookston of the Bulldogs. Both players shot a score of 75.

Hudson’s duo of Burke Villenauve and Andrew Yard both shot a 78 to finish in a tie for fourth in the conference.

Rounding out the team scoring for the Explorers was Ben Basta, who finished sixth with a 79.
