They still have three more "Majors" to play.
But the members of the Hudson boys golf team are in the driver’s seat to win the Suburban League National Conference title.
The Explorers won the National Conference championship at the first of four Suburban League tournaments Thursday at Pine Hills Golf Club in Hinckley.
Hudson placed first out of seven teams with a score of 310. Stow-Munroe Falls placed second (315) and Twinsburg took third (331).
"It was a very good start to the conference season," Explorers head coach Dave Kurtz said. "We avoided the big numbers. Guys made good decisions with respect to club selection. We can played the dangerous holes pretty well. We left a good number of strokes out there in the way of three putts and missed up-and-down chances from easy spots. We will certainly work on those areas in practice."
Hudson’s Coop Pamer shared medalist honors with Max Crookston of the Bulldogs. Both players shot a score of 75.
The Explorers’ duo of Burke Villenauve and Andrew Yard both shot a 78 to finish in a tie for fourth in the conference.
Rounding out the team scoring for Hudson was Ben Basta, who finished sixth with a 79.
