Police find vehicle door open: A Munroe Falls police officer reported that while on patrol, he saw the rear door of a vehicle was open while it was parked outside a Guise Park Drive home at about 3:30 a.m. Aug. 4. The officer said he was able to speak with the vehicle’s owner, who said he believed he did not shut the door all the way and there did not appear to be anything missing from the vehicle.

Driver playing game: Police said that after they responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle being driven around the Brust Park parking lot off North Main Street at about 6:45 a.m. July 31, they found the vehicle’s driver was playing a search game on his cell phone.

Juveniles jumping off bridge: Police said that when they responded to a report of juveniles jumping off a Summit Metro Parks Bike and Hike Trail bridge over the Cuyahoga River, northwest of Falls River Road, during the early evening July 29, they found the juveniles were gone.

Criminal damaging

Vehicle scratched: A Kent man reported someone scratched his vehicle while it was in a parking lot in Kent Road’s 4300 block during the late evening Aug. 1. A police report did not include a damage estimate.

Driveway damaged: A man reported someone caused unspecified damage to his driveway in Park Drive’s 3100 block during the afternoon July 26.


Groceries taken from cart: A Kent man reported that after he bought groceries of unspecified value at a store in Hudson Drive’s 3500 block Aug. 1, someone took the groceries from a shopping cart that he briefly left unattended.

Pallets taken from business: An employee of a business in Commerce Drive’s 1500 block reported that after an unknown man came into the business and asked if he could have some wooden pallets stored outside the business and the request was denied during the late morning July 31, the man and another unknown man loaded an unspecified number of pallets of unspecified value into a vehicle and left with them.


Money deposited and withdrawn: A Millburn Avenue woman reported Aug. 1 that someone deposited $2,850 into her checking account recently and then withdrew the same amount several days later.


Bike taken from garage: A woman reported July 30 that someone stole an approximately $370 bicycle from her attached garage during the previous few days. The woman said the theft probably took place during the night of July 27-28 when the garage door had been left open.

Drug trafficking

Mushrooms and marijuana found: Police said they charged a 24-year-old Kindsdale Drive man with fifth-degree felony charges of drug trafficking and drug possession, as well as minor misdemeanor marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia possession after they allegedly found him in possession of nearly 8 grams of suspected hallucinogenic mushrooms, more than three ounces of suspected marijuana and a scale with residue on it following an unspecified traffic stop at the Darrow Road and Bryn Mawr Drive intersection at a little before 1 a.m. July 29. Police said that police K-9 Diesel was at the scene. The man was taken to Summit County Jail.

Vehicle trespass

Suspects seen by vehicle: A man reported a neighbor witnessed two unknown males wearing hooded sweatshirts trying to get into the man’s locked vehicle while it was parked outside his home in North River Road’s 2600 block during the early morning July 29. The man said the neighbor yelled at the males, who fled on bicycles.
