Walsh Jesuit High School is scheduled to induct its 2019 Distinguished Alumnus and Hall of Fame recipients Friday at the Distinguished Alumni - Athletic Hall of Fame Ceremony in Walsh’s Chase Family Theater.

The Walsh Jesuit Alumni Association Distinguished Alumnus Award is presented to an alumnus or alumna who has utilized his or her talents in an exemplary way to serve God and the community, consistent with Walsh’s mission "Men and Women for and with Others."

Through consistent application of high moral and ethical standards, the recipient will have achieved outstanding post-graduation success in one or more of the following areas: service to family, faith and fellow men and women; contributions to their profession or vocation; leadership in civic or social work; and promotion of intellectual or cultural pursuits.

The Walsh Jesuit Athletic Hall of Fame recognizes those members of the Walsh Jesuit Community who have made significant contributions to Walsh Jesuit High School through athletic endeavors.

Alumni eligibility requirements are they must have been a varsity athlete in his/?her sport(s); should have made a major contribution to his/?her team and sport while at Walsh as either a statistical leader, a school record-holder or a team captain/?recognized team leader; must have exemplified Christian character in his/?her athletic endeavors and lifestyle; and must have continued to exemplify those same qualities as a Walsh graduate, as profiled in the "Graduate at Graduation";

Academic performances while at Walsh will be taken into consideration and eligibility begins 10 years after his/?her graduation from Walsh.

Coach/?non-athletic contributor eligibility requirements are: significant contributions to team(s), athletes and sport(s) while at Walsh through his/?her tenure and/?or accomplishments; and he/?she must have exemplified Christian character in his/?her athletic endeavors and lifestyle.

Northfield resident Patrick J. Flaherty, a 1983 Walsh graduate, is one of the inductees. Flaherty excelled for the Warriors’ basketball, baseball and track and field teams.
