AURORA - Ra Winston Walker, 79 years of age, passed away Tuesday May 7, 2019 at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio.
Born in Wooster, Ohio on June 22, 1939, he was the son of the late William and Gladys (Mildren) Walker. Mr. Walker was a 1957 graduate of Waynedale High School, following which he attended Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio, graduating in 1961 with a degree in Physics. Mr. Walker was employed at LXD as a quality engineer until his retirement. Formerly of Cleveland, he had resided in Aurora since 1972. Ra was a longtime member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, where he served as Head Usher, taking great pride in assisting fellow church members at all times, along with many mission trips over the years. Camping, traveling, cruising were some of his pastimes, and family and friends will always remember his love of food, especially pies. Most importantly were his love for family, and their love for him.
On June 9, 1961, Ra married his beloved wife Katherine L. (Moser) Walker who survives at home. Also surviving are his devoted children Lorie (Greg) Cook of Garrettsville, Kimberly Marshall of Ravenna, and Rebecca A. Walker of Aurora; his loving grandchildren Rob, Stephanie, Kayla, Michael, Trisha, Haley, and great-grandchildren Ethen, Payton and Sadie. Ra loved cats, and his 4-legged child "Moon" also survives.
Calling hours will be Tuesday May 14, 2019 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255 from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 15, 2019, 10:00 A.M. at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 17989 Chillicothe Rd., Chagrin Falls, Ohio 44023 with Pastor Robert Henderson officiating.
