Rehearsals for the Heart of Ohio women's a cappella show chorus take place Mondays at 7:30 p.m. at the Twin Falls United Methodist Church.

The barbershop chorus, led by master director David Wallace, is looking for women of all ages in the greater Akron area who want to have fun singing and performing in a four-part harmony a cappella chorus.

Women in the community are invited to drop in at a rehearsal any Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the Twin Falls United Methodist Church, 60 N. River Road in Munroe Falls.

Stow Blanketeers

The Stow Blanketeers meet on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month, excluding July.

The 30 or so ladies who make up the Stow Blanketeers is in need of community support. The group is asking for donated yarn or cash donations for the purchase of material.

The Stow Blanketeers knitted and crocheted a total of 125 blankets during the 2006 year, which were donated to local shelters.

Stow-Munroe Falls Kiwanis Club

The Stow-Munroe Falls Kiwanis Club meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month for a luncheon meeting, and on the fifth Wednesday of the month the club hosts a membership recruitment meeting.

The cost for the meetings is $9, which includes lunch. The meetings take place at noon at the Red Lobster on Graham Road.

Kim Mahon from the Cleveland Eye Bank will be the guest speaker for the June 27 meeting.

The Stow-Munroe Falls Lions Club meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at On Tap Restaurant, 4396 Kent Road in Stow.

The Stow-Munroe Falls Newcomers Club is open to new and established women of the community, as well as those residing in surrounding neighborhoods.

The club offers a wide variety of activities for members and their families, which include social events, community service projects, special guest speakers and field trips. Interested ladies are encouraged to try out the club before committing to join.
