The Hudson boys soccer team didn’t get off to a particularly good start to its season.
The Explorers’ postseason, on the other hand, is off to a scorching start.
Fourth-seeded Hudson cruised to a 5-0 victory over 13th-seeded Akron North Wednesday. The Solon Division I sectional semifinal game took place at Hudson Memorial Stadium.
With the win, the Explorers (9-6-2) are scheduled to host fifth-seeded Shaker Heights in a sectional title game Saturday at 7 p.m.
Hudson, which earned its third straight victory, has turned it up since a 1-4 start.
On Wednesday, the Explorers scored four second-half goals to take complete control.
Ryan Sarkisian led the way with three goals and Jarrett Widdoes and Ben Hallis each scored once.
Sarkisian also had an assist as did Owen Dollins, Caleb Junko and Sean Durkin.
Hudson had a 14-1 advantage in shots on goal and a 3-0 edge in corner kicks.
