The Aurora volleyball team’s three-match winning streak came to a rather emphatic end.

In the Greenmen’s defense, they ran into quite a buzzsaw.

Host Aurora dropped to 10-9 overall and 6-5 in the Suburban League American Conference after losing to Revere 25-18, 25-18, 25-19. The Minutemen have won 17 straight matches.

Brooke Fishback had 19 assists and three aces and Maggie Bradley and Kinze McWhorter each had seven kills for the Greenmen. Maria Parks added 12 digs for Aurora.

"When playing a team that has won 17 in a row like Revere, in order to give yourself a chance, you have to play almost perfect volleyball from the first whistle to the last," Greenmen head coach Tyler Price said. "At times, we played perfect and put us in a position to win, but then we would make some costly mistakes.

"Against a team like Revere, you can't hand them any easy and free points and we did at the wrong time. We started off in a hole each set by handing them points. We can use this to learn and grow as a team."
