Over the years, the Hudson girls soccer team’s has dealt with one major headache that always seems to spoil the Explorers’ party.
That would be Massillon Jackson.
The Polar Bears sent the Explorers packing after promising seasons a number of times during the 2000s.
On Saturday, Hudson hoped to finally solve its nemesis at Rick Neitzelt Stadium.
The Explorers came close, but Jackson continued to torture them once again.
Hudson fell to 6-3 in 2018 after losing to the Polar Bears in Massillon. Jackson scored the lone goal in the first half.
The Explorers had possession for much of the way after halftime and outshot the Polar Bears 7-4. Jackson had a 2-0 edge in corner kicks.
Hudson goalie Lily Morgan made three saves.
"We completely dominated the second half," Explorers head coach Chris Gentille said. "It was a very well-played game by both teams. It was our best game even though we lost.
"Lexi Muccino just missed a breakaway with four minutes to go. Jordan Manley made a great pass to split the defenders to find her. Their keeper made a fantastic save for them to win the game."
