The Aurora girls cross country team placed 12th with 384 points in the 38-team Division I race at the Spartan Invitational Saturday at Boardman High School.

Hudson won the competition with 135 points and Louisville and North Allegheny (Pa.) took the next two spots with 147 and 148 points, respectively.

Solon senior Olivia Howell placed first out of 305 runners with a time of 18 minutes, 37 seconds.

Junior Karsen Zabell led the Greenmen with a 47th-place clocking of 21:24.2. Senior Katy Fellenstein was next for Aurora in 67th (21:46.8).

Rounding out the top five for the Greenmen were freshman Morgan Schmitt (79th, 21:58.6) and sophomores Mikayla Jones (90th, 22:06.2) and Victoria Blechschmid (102nd, 22:17.8).
