The Tallmadge cross country teams competed in the large-school race at the Dover Invitational Saturday.

The boys finished second out of nine teams with 68 points. Minerva won the competition with 53 points and Dover took third with 93 points.

Dover’s Vinnie Giumenti placed first out of 95 runners with a time of 17 minutes, 24 seconds.

Beloit West Branch’s Jeff Joseph captured second in 17:47.9.

Leading the way for the Blue Devils was sophomore Tommy Naiman, who finished third in 18:08.8.

Sophomore Ben Jurkowski was next for Tallmadge in ninth (18:56.2).

Rounding out the top five for the Blue Devils were seniors Andrew Hipkins (17th, 19:26.9) and Nick Sabetta (18th, 19:30.4) and sophomore Dawson Ansley (21st, 19:48.9).

The Tallmadge girls captured fourth out of nine teams with 75 points.

Mineral Ridge Tuscarawas Valley won the competition with 52 points. Dover (55) and Minerva (65) placed second and third, respectively.

Tusky Valley’s Madisan DeBos finished first out of 85 runners in 20:13.9.

Junior Kenna Loveless led the Blue Devils with a sixth-place clocking of 21:29.2. Ravyn Edge was next for Tallmadge in 12th (23:03.5).

Rounding out the top five for the Blue Devils were sophomores Mackenzie Moran (18th, 23:44.7) and Emma Ryder (19th, 23:46) and senior Ashleigh Hughes (23rd, 24:09.1).
