The Hudson girls tennis team needs two things to happen if it wants to continue its reign as the Suburban League National Conference queen.
The Explorers need to keep winning and they need some help.
Host Hudson improved to 7-2 overall and 3-1 in the conference with a 5-0 victory over North Royalton Tuesday.
The Explorers, whose lone conference loss was to Brecksville-Broadview Heights earlier in the season, has owned the National Conference ever since the Suburban League switched to a 15-team, two-conference format.
Hudson lost a total of one game in singles’ play as Susie Fan (6-1, 6-0), Laura Nijhuis (6-0, 6-0) and Sunny Fan (6-0, 6-0) dominated.
The Explorers’ first doubles team of Jennifer Grainger and Katie Tuttle (6-1, 6-1) also had little trouble. Hudson’s second doubles team had to work a little harder. The team of Sam Sigler and Raman Sidhu prevailed with a 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 win.
