Three in a row and counting for the Aurora boys soccer team.

The host Greenmen improved to 5-1 in 2018 after posting a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over Mayfield Thursday at Veterans Stadium.

The Wildcats took a 1-0 lead when Jacob Weissman scored with 23 minutes left. However, Aurora tied the game with nine minutes remaining.

Alex Bibza stole the ball in the midfield, dribbled forward, and found Cooper Bizjak, who tucked it in.

The Greenmen weren’t done.

Two minutes later, Aurora scored again from six consecutive passes, starting with a goal kick. Bryson Pozniak played the ball to Trevor Lazor, who drew the keeper out and then laid it across to Bizjak for the game-winning goal.

The Greenmen faced adversity throughout the match as Mayfield’s goalkeeper made five stops on difficult shots of breakaways.

Aurora goalie Ethan Hoff finished with 10 saves.
