The Aurora boys soccer team had a difficult test in conference play Tuesday on the road.

Let’s just say the Greenmen aced it.

Aurora improved to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the Suburban League American Conference after posting a 2-0 victory over host Kent Roosevelt.

Cooper Bizjak scored his team-leading seventh goal of the season off an assist from Sean O’Malley and Trevor Lazor scored his third goal in 2018 off an assist from Ben Gavie. Both goals took place in the first half.

"It was a hard-fought game," Greenmen head coach Jason Bibza said. "Kent put a lot of pressure on us, which made it very difficult to build and possess."

The Rough Riders had a 12-7 advantage in shots on goal. Aurora goalkeeper Ethan Hoff made nine saves.

"Our center back, Kyle Ruehr, and Ethan were under a lot of pressure," Bibza said. "Kyle consistently turned away Kent’s attack. Every time they came down on our end, Kyle stopped them."
