The Hudson boys golf team finished ninth with a score 317 at the 18-team Walker Jones Classic Wednesday at Shale Creek Golf Club in Medina.
Cleveland St. Ignatius won the title with a score of 292.
Ben Basta led the Explorers with a 73. He finished in a tie for sixth place.
Teammate Burke Villenauve contributed a personal-best 76. Rounding out the top four for Hudson were Coop Pamer (83) and Erik Block (85).
"It was a pretty strong field consisting of a handful of potential state-qualifying teams," Explorers head coach Dave Kurtz said. "We were 30 strokes better than last year."
Hudson’s junior varsity team placed second with a score of 333 at the 22-team Mustang Classic Wednesday at Bunker Hill Golf Course in Medina.
Andrew Yard led the Explorers with a 75 to earn medalist honors.
