Tallmadge rising seniors Autumn Malicoat and Emily Pratt and Tallmadge rising junior Jordyn Severns represented Northeast Ohio for the All-Ohio District softball games June 18 and 19 at Pickerington Central High School.
The games consisted of each of the six Ohio High School Athletic Association districts fielding a team of all-stars to compete against each other. Each team played five eight-inning games against the other five districts.
Team Central swept its opponents to take home the crown but Team Northeast Ohio finished 4-1.
Malicoat, a center fielder, made numerous plays and threw out two runners trying to score.
Malicoat wreaked havoc on opposing defenders and bunted, slapped and hit her way on base, hitting .500 and scoring four times.
Her offensive production exactly matched her 2018 high school season totals that earned her the right to play in the games.
Pratt was a dual threat, pitching and hitting her way through the best competition in Ohio. Pratt, who finished 13-3 and a .91 earned run average for the Lady Blue Devils during the spring, threw 13 scoreless innings.
Pratt also lit up opposing pitchers, hitting .750 for the games and driving in five runs.
Severns drove the ball deep, bunted safely and picked off two runners during her second trip to the All-Ohio games.
Severns, who is a two-time All-Ohio NEO District selection led off for Team NEO and was the spark for the team in its four wins. She hit .400, walked twice and scored twice and had two RBIs.
